Why Black Americans Should Care

Black children are disproportionately aborted in the U.S., and the roots of Planned Parenthood are based in eugenics and the racism of its founder, Margaret Sanger. Even today, this report says, 78% of all Planned Parent clinics are in minority neighborhoods. Have Michelle and Barack Obama done their homework on this?

And, according to this, the most dangerous place for an African-American is in the womb of its African-American mother:

Our Second Monday for Obama: Fellowship of the Unashamed

Her is a great way to start our second Monday for Obama. From PatrickMadrid.com (he has encouraged downloads of this piece, which he adapted from the original, author unknown):

Mission Statement of the Fellowship of the Unashamed

I AM A PART of the Fellowship of the Unashamed.

The die has been cast. The decision has been made. I have stepped over the line. I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is in God's hands. I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, the bare minimum, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, frivolous living, selfish giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, applause, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, the best, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith. I lean on Christ's presence. I love with patience, live by prayer, and labor with the power of God's grace.

My face is set. My gait is fast, my goal is heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my Guide is reliable, and my mission is clear.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, shut up, let up, or slow up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and spoken up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give until I drop, speak out until all know, and work until He stops me.

And when He returns for His own, He will have no difficulty recognizing me. My banner is clear: I am a part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed.

Don't Feel Like Praying? Yes, We Can!

Maybe it's because we're still tired and depressed from last week's election. I know I am. Just the word "Obama" has begun to trigger a Pavlovian response in me, making me feel hopeless and frustrated. But I'm not sensing much enthusiasm for praying for Obama. An objection I heard Monday morning was from a great prayer warrior friend, who simply said he has enough on his "prayer plate" already, what with praying for his family that seems to have some sort of crisis every week. But he is also angry and depressed, and understandably just doesn't really want to pray for this man. I feel your pain, brother!

After giving it some thought, here's my response: Barack Obama is, frankly, our enemy. Even if we don't dislike him personally, we certainly dislike many of the things he supports and stands for. We Christians are under a mandate to pray for our enemies, so pray for him we must.

As far as putting family first, that is absolutely the right thing to do, and Mondays for Obama need not change the order of your prayers. Pray for family first, and then pray for him. And bear in mind that when you pray for Obama you are praying for your family, because his leadership is absolutely going to have an impact on your loved ones.

Right now, in the immediate aftermath of this most depressing event of my life as an American (not counting September 11), thinking about this man and praying for his good and his conversion is a dirty job. But somebody has to do it! People's lives are at stake here, and not just his. Besides, we know that the act of praying for someone we dislike, or even hate, helps us to forgive and to learn to love them. This will take time, probably a lot of time, but all we need to look at is one day at a time.

If you want a little pep talk, go to Priests for Life (see the Team Support column) and check out the video of Father Frank Pavone. As he says: Right now it's Friday, and Jesus is on the cross. The sheep are scattered in confusion. But Sunday's coming!

Obama and Infanticide

This is a video of a Planned Parenthood employee explaining to a client that a late-term abortion is actually forced labor which delivers a baby, who may be born alive but will be left to die. Included are clips of Mr. Obama explaining how offering such a child medical care just puts "an additional burden" on the woman attempting to get an abortion. This video has been removed from YouTube, by the way.

Please explain why, if you've already carried a baby this far and are prepared to go through labor, you can't just choose to give it up for adoption?

This is the single-biggest reason Obama needs our prayer. When I heard Michelle Obama talk about how carefully her husband drove her and their first child, newly-born, home from the hospital, it was hard to reconcile with this very cold, clinical explanation of why he did not support the Born Alive Protection Act.

Please understand that any care offered to such a child would only prolong its life, and that is something Planned Parenthood definitely does not want to do. The sooner such a child dies, the sooner everyone in the building can breathe easier. So the child must lie cold, wet, naked and alone, in obvious distress, on a hard surface until it dies on its own or someone puts it out of its misery. Then it becomes rubbish. What a hero we have elected as our President!

Let us please ask the Lord to bring this man around by any means necessary -- he desperately needs to see the light.

Why Muslims Should Care

The UK's Society for the Protection of Unborn Children has a page for our Muslim friends to consider:

Why Muslim sisters and brothers should join the pro-life campaign

The Hour of Mercy

Regardless of what this page says about what time it is, it is in fact five minutes before three in the afternoon. My watch is going off for Barack Obama -- time to go beg for mercy. Please join me...

Barb Is On FIRE!

Please, please go immediately to Barbara Nicolosi's site, Church of the Masses (see the link on the left of this page). She is RAGING against the lukewarm Catholics, the "useful idiots" to the demon of this age. Scroll down to her entry for Monday, November 3 and go up from there. Testify, sister!

Our First Monday

Today is Monday, November 10, 2008. Welcome to Mondays For Obama!

This is a long-distance marathon prayer team that meets on Mondays to pray for the conversion of our President-elect, Barack Obama. If we can't elect the president of our choice, we'll turn the one we've got into the one we want!

Who is invited?
Anyone who believes in the power of prayer. This blog is Christian in its orientation, but our Jewish and Muslim friends are warmly welcome to join us, as are any people who believe in the power of prayer and the importance of living a good and moral life.

What is our mission?
Specifically and as soon as we can, to change Mr. Obama's position on life issues, especially abortion. We believe that abortion is murder, and that Mr. Obama's thinking on this is very disordered. We've all heard how he withheld his support for legislation which would have mandated care and protection for a baby born alive during an attempted abortion. If he can't get that right, what else will he not get right? Mr. Obama has stated that the U.S. Constitution, which most Americans consider an almost sacred document, is "fundamentally flawed," and that the Founding Fathers who created this flawed document had a "fundamental blind spot." Makes you wonder how he will take his oath of office, doesn't it? (I'm talking about the part where he would be expected to protect and defend the Constitution.) Can we agree that there is a dangerous arrogance about a man who thinks he knows better than the Founding Fathers about what should go in the Constitution? We may agree that Mr. Obama is intelligent and well-educated, but a person can be smart and still lack wisdom.

What do we do?
We pray for him daily, but especially on Mondays, so that we can offer our prayers together for strength. Many of us come from a tradition that encourages fasting as a means to "supercharge" our prayers, so we will fast in any way we can -- by limiting our food and drink, by giving up things we enjoy but don't really need, such as our morning coffee, our trips to the snack machine, etc. We can add small sacrifices, such as getting up an hour or a half-hour early for prayer. Catholics can go to Mass, make a Holy Hour, or offer a rosary. We can do a lot, or do a little, but we'll all do something on Mondays for The Cause. Christians, particularly, let's say a prayer at 3 pm, the Hour of Mercy. And don't forget to spread the word! We want as many people on the team as we can get. Tell your friends, your family, your neighbors, your co-workers, and the people who worship with you.

What about the blog?
This blog is primarily for encouragement. A lot of people are fired up after the Election Day defeat, but many are still depressed and frustrated. We've got to get up off the mat and get back in the fight! Remember: It isn't over until GOD SAYS ITS OVER, and in the meantime our job is to persevere in prayer and to overcome evil with good. There are plenty of examples of how one person can change the world, and if Barack Obama's gifts of eloquence and persuasion could be turned around for a holy purpose, he could bring the country, and perhaps much of the world, with him. We Christians remember the story of the great Apostle Paul, who was complicit to the murders of the early Christians. Despite his misguided zeal for persecution, he became the great evangelist to the Gentiles, and in doing so changed the world. Is it possible that while he held the coats of the men who murdered Stephen, our first martyr, Stephen's prayer for him effected his conversion?
